For 100 years, our beloved shul, Congregation Anshe Chesed has been a mainstay of the Jewish community of Union County, New Jersey. In the last decade, a number of young families joined the community and brought with them a tremendous energy and a drive to build their Orthodox Jewish homes here in Linden.
As more families poured in, our momentum to build a mikvah in Linden gained steam. Work on the Ziga Roshanski Mikvah was the highlight of Anshe Chesed’s centennial year (2014), and its opening in 2015 signals an historic rebirth of the Jewish community of Linden. We are thrilled to invite you to participate in this great accomplishment, whether you will be a guest at our Mikvah, a guest at one of our events, or a guest at our shul.
Below is a brief history of our construction:
The City of Linden approved the building of a Mikvah on the shul’s property, 1000 Orchard Terrace.
A special groundbreaking was held for The Ziga Roshanski Mikvah. The digging began that week.
The Ziga Roshanski Mikvah held a Dedication and Ribbon-Cutting on May 17. Just a few short weeks later, the Mikvah opened in full operation.
